How do I set up my desktop Wallpaper
Netscape and MS Internet Explorer users: If you want to use any of the provided
images as your wallpaper just point on it with your mouse, click the right button
and choose: "Set As Wallpaper" option. This will automatically install
the image you like as a wallpaper on your desktop. Alternatively, if you are
an experienced PC user, you can convert the downloaded JPG or GIF images into
BMP format and copy them into your Windows directory. This will let you to select
new Wallpaper images right in the "Control Panel" when you get bored
of the old ones. To convert JPG into BMP format you can use:
Visua , 494 Kb (Windows
95 and NT 4.0) - FREEWARE!!! Very easy to use. Just unzip the program using
pkunzip.exe or Winzip 6.x into some directory (however it is recommended to
create a new one) and start the program by double clicking it. (Note: since
this program is not "anchored" to your Windows Registry, you can freely
move its' folder in your Windows Explorer). After you start the program, click
on "Open" button in the left upper corner and find the folder where
you saved your Wallpaper images. When you open one (out of several) image, you
will see the rest of them in the left white rectange. This rectangle will let
you open images faster, just by double clicking on them. When any image is open
you can easily convert it into BMP format by clicking "Save" button
(located right next to "Open" button). All you've got to do is select
"BMP" under "Save as type" option, write down a name of
the wallpaper (could be any name) and find your Windows directory (this is where
you wanna save your new "converted" image). Now press "Save"
and you're all set. Go to "Control Panel" and select your Wallpaper.
Note: You might find particularly useful a "mirror" option in "Visua".Good

handy options for manipulating on your Wallpaper images, including "rotation",
"flipping", and "mirroring". It is easy to install and use.
You can convert almost any image format by first opening that image and then
saving it (choose "Save as" from the "File" menu and then
pick up an appropriate compression under "Save as type" option - BMP
for Wallpaper). Important: don't forget to save your BMP Wallpaper images into
your Windows directory! Demo version.
Fractal Design's Painter
4 , 8.4 Mb (Windows and Mac OS). You can create lots of stunning effects
if you master this piece of software! It has all the capabilities of Paint Shop
Pro and much more... Cons: you must have a powerfull computer in order to escape
frustration when using this program. To convert Wallpaper into BMP format, please
follow the same steps as in Paint Shop Pro (look above). Demo version.
Attention Mac users: YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN! Download GraphicConverter
, 1.8 Mb (Mac OS) to convert all your Wallpaper into an appropriate
(God knows what that is) format. Sorry folks, couldn't give you any more info
on this program 'cause I don't have a Mac to test it on.
